Born from our own burnt GPUs.
We are builders just like you. We loved the raw compute economics of Vast.ai, until our first viral launch crashed our instances into oblivion.
The $0.3/hr Dream Turned Into a Midnight Nightmare
In late 2024, our team launched an AI anime avatar generator powered by a tuned ComfyUI pipeline. To keep our operational burn rate low, we opted out of $2,000/mo cloud clusters and instead rented an RTX 4090 on Vast.ai for roughly $0.32/hour. Everything functioned flawlessly during local smoke tests.
Then a tech influencer shared the app on Twitter. Within ten minutes, 40 users hit the generate button at the same instant. Our single 4090 ran out of physical memory in 3 seconds. The PyTorch process died with a fatal CUDA out of memory exit code. Our frontend threw endless 502 Bad Gateway errors. By the time we manually logged in via SSH and rebooted the container, 90% of those eager visitors had already abandoned our site.
We realized that hardware isn't the bottleneck—uncontrolled concurrency is. Developers shouldn't have to spend a week standing up Redis, Celery, and custom WebSocket bridges just to protect a single GPU. We built KiloLine to be that invisible, unshakeable protective buffer.
Our 3 Engineering Principles
Do One Thing Exceptionally Well
We aren't building a bloated all-in-one AI platform. We focus exclusively on turning high-concurrency burst traffic into orderly serialized lines for budget GPUs.
Zero-Payload Privacy
Your prompts, customer embeddings, and generated media never touch our disks. Packets are streamed through ephemeral in-memory edge pipes directly to your instances.
Predictable Economics
No punitive per-second billing surprises. We believe indie builders deserve transparent infrastructure that helps them bootstrap sustainably.
2026 Product Roadmap
Public Beta: Global edge gateway proxy, dynamic concurrency serialization, and SSE keep-alive streams.
ComfyUI Native Node: Official ComfyUI custom node for one-click telemetry and automatic worker registration.
Smart Deduplication: Exact-hash and prompt-cache layer that fulfills identical queries without touching GPU compute.
